My name is Steve Ballinger and I farm garlic here in Livingston, New York. Here is my story: The Fatboy Story. In 1997 I went back to Canada to my brother Peter’s farm in Southern Ontario. He was growing organic garlic. I never really thought about garlic at the time. What I saw on brother Peter’s farm and what I tasted was like nothing I had ever experienced before, it was hardneck garlic. Mr. Al Music started the hardneck garlic story. He discovered this garlic in Italy, brought it to Canada, and it responded well to the soil and climate conditions. I fell in love, and the rest is history.
